We are absolutely thrilled to announce the results of our first ever SID Writers Competition! The response was truly overwhelming from all the positive comments and feedback and of course the incredible entries! We were honestly super impressed and felt that we just had to share them all. A big thank you to everyone who participated and shared their thoughts with us. Your willingness to be vulnerable and put your voice out there truly touched us. We appreciate the effort you put into your submissions, and we can't wait to see how these diverse perspectives will inspire and educate others. May Allah bless you all! 💕
Congratulations to entry 1, 2 and 3 for winning this writers competition! 🎉
Entry 1
Smile:
Â
Times are  getting more and more difficult.
How many times do I, you and we cry?
It's time to smile.
Let's move on with our lives.
Put the bad things on the side.
Show them that you don't mind.
Tell them with your smile.
Sometimes it hurts.
Tell yourself is it worth a cry , is it worth a smile.
You and I may not be physically strong.
But we got a strong mind.
Don't let them inside
Block them with your smile .
How many times do you smile?
You might tell yourself today , tomorrow or next week.
Set yourself a goal and do it now.
Life is too short to waste time.
Keep going , keep going.
And don't forget that smile.
Don't be embarrassed to cry and be  sad.
Remember it's fine !
At the end of the day it's life.
Just remember to smile and make the world shine.

Sometimes it takes the most devastating circumstances to make you return to Allah swt. Sometimes it takes heartbreak, confusion and complete unrest to put you back on the straight path. Sometimes it takes teary nights and lack of appetite to make you finally sit on your prayer mat and pour your heart out. Sometimes it takes all the strength in your body to make wudhu and pray. Sometimes we’re so engulfed in the darkness that even the simplest acts of worship feel heavy on the tongue and even heavier on the heart. Sometimes we feel unworthy and unconnected. We feel as though we’ve taken it too far, our sins have ruined our relationship with our lord and we worry we will never feel the sweetness of imaan again. We feel as though our sins are a noose around our necks and life is waiting to push the chair away. And then it happens, a prayer where we feel a change in our hearts, where our tears fall and we feel relief. A prayer where we beg for Allah’s forgiveness. A prayer where we can feel his rahma and all our problems feel so minuet, a prayer where we feel connected, a prayer that redirects us back to him. A prayer where we realise that we would go through  all of those problems and all that pain a million times over to feel that level of connection again.
